Characters consist of one or more components, each of which is either a character, a radical (character) or a stroke. Each character’s components can be arranged in one of the patterns shown in the list below.
NOTE – Our list deviates from the Unicode Ideographic Description Sequences, which has 12 component patterns. We’ve added 4 additional patterns that we think may provide more complete coverage of patterns not included in the Unicode list.
